SPCA PLAY CAFE

The SPCA Play Cafe is a new endeavor which showcases adoptable baby animals in a laid back lounge setting! Imagine an hour of snuggling or playing with 10-15 puppies or kittens and sipping on a latte – all of which benefits rescue animals!

You’ve heard of cat cafes, but you’ve never heard of puppy/kitten cafes, especially non profit! The cafe itself is multifaceted – it serves as an adoption floor, a temporary foster home, and fundraising efforts for our mission through the reservation fee, cafe and merchandise purchases. You get caffeinated so our future animals can get vaccinated! It also helps socialize the animals and increased adoptability. Not only does it serve homeless animals in our area, but it serves the community! There are plenty of reasons someone might not be able or ready to adopt, and this is a no pressure way to enjoy the human animal bond in a positive way.

We always want to be able to increase our life saving rates, and the generous donation from the Community Foundation made this possible. True to our form as a grass-roots non-profit, we enlisted the help of our community and sponsors to make this possible. Special thanks goes out to Habitat for Humanity Restore, Rappahannock IT, Sherwin Williams, Spotsylvania Towne Centre, Books-A-Million, Dog Krazy, and our very special volunteer Jeff, who is a marine veteran who donated his time as well as his artistic and construction skills to make the cafe what it is.

So how does this all work? The SPCA PLAY Cafe will be open May through June, Friday & Saturday from 1 – 7 pm and Sundays from 1 – 6 pm!  Reservations are highly recommended, as we do only allow in a certain number of humans per time slot. We will have (5) one hour time slots available for you to enjoy either kittens or puppies during open hours.

Reservations are highly recommended, and can be made at Fredspca.org/PlayCafe

Thank you for coming to our weird and wonderful events! By attending, you are funding the future to save more lives!
