People Empowered Through Support
The People Empowered Through Support Program was created to provide free pet food and pet supplies available to pet-owning families in need in the Rappahannock Region to reduce the financial burden associated with pet care. Basically, if you live in the City of Fredericksburg or in one of the counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania or Stafford, we’re here to help. Those enrolled in our program will receive access to our low cost vaccine clinic as well as our low cost spay/neuter surgeries.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The FredSPCA Pantry is open to any pet parent who is a resident of District 16. Food may be picked up once per month for each animal who is enrolled in the program.
Within 6 months of enrollment, pet parents must show proof of up-to-date vaccines and spay/neuter for each of their animals. Pet Pantry staff can help any pet parent facilitate vaccinations or spay/neuter for their animals, and pet parents are encouraged to inquire about these services when they arrive to pick up food.

The Pet Pantry program is dependent on the generosity of the public, local businesses, and the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank. Help us help families keep their pets at home – where they belong. Want to help? Donate items off of our WISHLIST .
Bags and cans of dog or cat food can be donated at the Fredericksburg SPCA location during regular business hours. Unopened bags are preferred; opened bags will be accepted as long as the food is in its original manufacturer packaging and includes the expiration date.
