HOW TO ADOPT

ADOPTION PROCESS

**Please note our adoption procedure has been updated**

There are many ways to meet a new companion animal at the Fredericksburg SPCA! You can now make an appointment to come into the SPCA and view animals at the shelter, or, you can do a virtual meet-n-greet for animals in foster care!

AT THE SPCA: The SPCA will begin in-person viewings at the shelter by appointment only. This gives each person a one-on-one opportunity to speak with Matchmakers and meet with several animals during your appointment.

**Please note** These appointments are first-come-first-serve and we cannot guarantee specific animals will still be available at the time of appointment. The appointments are to come into the building and view available animals, we cannot hold or guarantee the availability of certain animals.

IN FOSTER CARE: There are many animals who do much better in a foster home, away from the chaos of the shelter. Our animals in foster let their true personalities shine in a home environment and our Fred Foster Fam would love to show you! Meet virtually with an animal listed “in foster” by following the steps below.
