ENTER HERE TO SAVE LIVES
For the past two months, the Fred SPCA hosted a Pop-Up kitten and puppy cafe in the Spotsylvania Towne Centre. Thanks to a generous $5000 grant from the Community Foundation, we transformed an empty space into a multifaceted baby animal oasis! It was a place where animals could be socialized, meet with potential adopters, and it provided a fun and interactive way to raise life saving funds. Not to mention creating a no-pressure, unique way for people to get puppy/kitten time!
(Best form of therapy ever?! We think so!)
For-profit cat cafes are popping up everywhere, so we decided to step it up and fearlessly lead our animal welfare loving community into a groundbreaking first: A Non-profit Puppy & Kitten Cafe.
Were we crazy? You betcha. Was it wildly successful and fun? Absolutely. And we couldn’t have done it without you!
You got caffeinated so puppies and kittens could get vaccinated!
All those who entered the cafe contributed to funding the future of our life saving work!
As a non-profit, all of the money and support we receive is from the community and our sponsors.
With the purchase of a reservation, beverages from our partner cafe, Joe Muggs (Books-A-Million), purchase of merchandise or by making an extra contribution – you helped enable us to save MORE lives of vulnerable animals in our community.
THE SPONSORS WHO MADE IT HAPPEN
The Community Foundation provided us with the means to get this mission started! They gave us a $5000 grant to cover our overhead costs.
Greater Fredericksburg Habitat For Humanity let us come into their store and take whatever we needed to populate the cafe with furniture, art and more!
Without Rappahannock IT, we never would have had Wifi, a working computer or point of sale set up! Not to mention they came out every time we broke the printer, and we do that a lot. They provide the entire SPCA with 365 day IT support.
Sherwin Williams saw the need for a face-lift of our space and furniture! They gave us over $500 in supplies to create a clean and bright lounge environment.
Books-A -Million /Joe Muggs offered us a 20% Community discount, so that we could make donation profits by partnering with them to sell beverages and cookies. They helped put the “cafe” experience in our Pop Up!
Dog Krazy provided all of the puppies and kittens of the SPCA Play Cafe with a healthy and unending supply of breakfast lunch and dinner! They understand nutrition is important to the growth of baby animals, and did not hesitate to give these guys what they needed while they were with us!
Our local Target donated a total of $500 in gift cards to us so we could get those extra special items that tied the cafe experience together!
